My Specialties:
I am currently taking on Adult fiction (novels, short fiction) in a variety of genres. Although I do enjoy mainstream fiction, I tend to gravitate to works that are a little. . .odd. Books with a hint of magical realism, the surreal, the weird (if you can comp to Haruki Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto, Helen Oyeyemi, Helen Marshall, or Ted Chiang I will probably love it). I enjoy slipstream, light sci-fi/fantasy (particularly near future SF), light supernatural, things that are a bit uncanny without being downright horror. I can help with mystery, although I am not as up-to-date on the genre conventions, but I’m not a good fit for genre romance (books that happen to have romance in them are fine, but I’m probably not the best fit for outright erotica). If you have questions about whether your manuscript is a good fit, just ask!

Query Letter
A deep dive into your query letter (evaluating tone, word-choice, comps, pacing, etc). Includes line-by-line edits of your approximately one page query letter.

Includes line-by-line edits of the first ten pages of your manuscript (evaluating both the writing and how well the selection hooks the reader and introduces the manuscript). Includes a detailed edit letter and follow-up clarifying conversation.

Submission Package
Query Letter + First 10 Pages
Includes the Query Letter edit, plus line-by-line edits of the first ten pages of your manuscript (essentially, what you will be submitting to agents when querying). Includes a detailed edit letter and follow-up clarifying conversation. This level is perfect for those who already have a polished manuscript, and are serious about querying!

Short Fiction* (price per 1,000 words**)
Includes a close reading of your short story, line-by-line edits, and a detailed edit letter including recommendations. Follow-up clarifying conversation also included.
Under 1,000 words: Flat $35.00 fee
Over 1,001 words: $35.00 plus an additional $10.00 per 1,000 words
(ex: a 5,000 word story would be $75.00 and a 25,000 word story would be $275.00 )

Partial Manuscript (price per 1,000 words*)
Includes a close reading of your submitted pages, line-by-line edits, and a detailed edit letter including recommendations. Follow-up clarifying conversation included. Since I will not see the entire scope of your manuscript, I will not be able to comment on the overall plot structure of your novel, but I can help with smaller scale items.
Base rate is $25.00 plus $10.00 per 1,000 words
Ex: 10,000 words would be $125 total, 40,000 would be $425 total
Minimum of 10,000 words and maximum of 40,000 words

Full Manuscript: Reader Report
Includes a close reading of your manuscript, and a 2-4 page report on overall impressions and recommendations.

Full Manuscript: Big Picture (Developmental)
A “Big Picture” look at your manuscript. This level does not include line-by-line editing, but includes a detailed edit letter regarding plot/characters/etc., a detailed list of observed trends (over-used words, frequent errors, etc), and a follow-up clarifying conversation.
